henry earl

on monday, 22 september 2008, a homeless lexington, kentucky man named henry earl was arrested for the 1000th time.

virtually all of henrys’ arrests have been for public intoxication.  he’s not into theft or violence.

he channels james brown and, sometimes, imitates will smiths’ character from the “wild, wild west video”.

his mug shots from over the years suggest a mostly happy man who likes his booze.  (not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

a modern day bojangles who spends most of his time behind county bars because he drinks a bit.

whether he’s found his answers or is running from his demons is not perfectly clear.

i, personally, will be sure to raise a sunset beer to henry earl and wish him well.

  1. I want to live [or at least take a long vacation] in paradise. I thought it rather interesting that you live in paradise and find news from the US interesting.

Gosh the things I woudl be doing in paradise– would have nothing to do with news from here.

  2. you’re exactly right, Q, where i live he would be just another loved member of the community.

you should come and check this place out.

  3. Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.
